Privacy Notice
How 888market collects, uses, and protects your personal data — and the choices you have.
This page is a plain-language summary while our full legal text is completed with counsel. It is provided for clarity; your statutory rights under applicable law always apply and are not limited by anything here.
Who we are
888market is operated by 888 Market LLC (United Arab Emirates). For anything in this notice, contact us through the Help section and ask for the privacy team.
Data we collect
Your name, phone number, and delivery address when you order; your order and delivery history; messages you send to support; your buyer-seller chat messages and any photos or files you choose to attach to chats, reviews, or return requests; the raw search queries you enter; and basic device identifiers needed to secure sessions and deliver notifications. In the mobile app we also collect, only when relevant: your approximate or precise location when you use your current location or set a delivery pin (device permission is optional — you can search for or type an address instead); your Fayda national-ID number and verification status when you choose identity verification; and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the email address and name that provider shares. On Android, Firebase Performance processes performance diagnostics. On iOS, Sentry may receive crash and technical diagnostic data only when its release configuration is armed.
Why we use it
To fulfil orders and deliveries, verify your phone number, provide buyer-seller chat and support, return search results, personalise recommendations and, on Android, measure app performance and interactions with sponsored content; to prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal obligations, and — only with your consent — send marketing. Sponsored placements are suppressed on iOS. We do not sell personal data.
Marketing choices
Marketing messages are opt-in — unchecked by default at checkout — and every message includes a way to stop. You can withdraw consent at any time in your privacy settings or through support; withdrawal always wins.
Sharing and service providers
We share data only as needed to run the service: sellers receive the messages and attachments you send in buyer-seller chat; couriers receive the delivery name, address, and phone; our SMS carrier receives the number to text; and cloud infrastructure hosts our systems under contract. Google processes Firebase Cloud Messaging identifiers and delivery data on iOS and Android, and processes Firebase Analytics and Performance data on Android only. Sentry processes crash and technical diagnostic data on iOS only when the release configuration is armed. Google or Apple verifies your identity when you use its sign-in. Each service provider is bound by a data-protection agreement.
How long we keep data
Data is kept only as long as its purpose requires — order records for the period commercial and tax law demands, support conversations for a limited service window, and technical logs briefly for security. When a period ends, the data is deleted or anonymized.
Where data is stored
Our systems are hosted on cloud infrastructure in the European Union, with safeguards applied to transfers. If our storage locations change, this notice is updated first.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete your account, and withdraw any consent. Signed-in customers can manage consent and request account deletion under Account → Privacy; that page tells you whether your deletion request was recorded. Use the Help section for a copy, correction, or another privacy request, or if the privacy service is unavailable. We verify identity before acting and may keep only records required by law.
How we protect data
Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest, and access is role-restricted and logged.
Children
888market is a general-audience shopping service and is not directed at children; we do not knowingly collect children's data.
Changes to this notice
We version this notice and record the version you accepted. Material changes are announced on this page before they take effect.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, contact support first — and you may also complain to the UAE data-protection authorities.
